Dr. Tsutomu Takeuchi is Professor of Rheumatology, Department of Internal Medicine, Keio University School of Medicine in Tokyo, Japan. After completing his medical education at Keio University School of Medicine, Dr. Takeuchi was awarded clinical and research fellowships. Subsequently, he was a research fellow at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston, Massachusetts. He is appointed as vice president of Keio University. Keio University Hospital is approved as one of the center of excellence for Rheumatology by APLAR in 2017. His major research interests are pathogenesis, translational research and clinical studies/trials for autoimmune diseases including Rheumatoid Arthritis, Systemic Lupus Erythematosus, vasculitis, and Sjogren’s syndrome. He has published more than 400 original articles and more than 10000 citations in peer-reviewed journals. He is the president of JCR, the Japanese Society for Inflammation and Regeneration and Japanese society of Clinical Rheumatology.
